Located in the vibrant Museum District of Houston at 1200 Binz, Granger’s offers a blend of casual elegance and sophistication. This restaurant stands out with its striking interior design, featuring brass accents and a lively Tiffany blue that Katie Stone finds inspiring for her own home.
The outdoor patio, shaded by majestic oak trees, provides an inviting space for al fresco dining, ideal for enjoying Houston’s fleeting spring temperatures.
At the helm of the kitchen is Executive Chef Manny Velasquez, who brings a wealth of experience from prestigious dining establishments, including the original Houston’s and various Landry’s concepts. Chef Velasquez has curated a menu that highlights classic American cuisine, emphasizing quality and affordability.
The menu celebrates the rich flavors of the Gulf Coast alongside American classics, featuring options from Gulf oysters to expertly cooked steaks. Notable dishes crafted by Chef Velasquez include the Texas Redfish Pontchartrain, crab hush puppies, and the exclusive “Baller Board,” which offers a luxurious selection of filet mignon, rib-eye, and New York strip for those wanting to indulge.
Granger’s will host a special wine event, the “Year of the Horse” Wine Dinner, on Thursday, April 23. This five-course meal will be accompanied by wines from Black Stallion Estate Winery, with a ticket price of $110 per person, excluding tax and gratuity. For more details, the restaurant can be contacted at 713-529-1444.

Cleverley Stone, affectionately known as “The Diva of Dining,” dedicated her life to combating hunger in Houston and supporting local dining establishments. She founded Houston Restaurant Week in 2003, which has since grown into a four-week-long culinary celebration. Her mantra, “Dine Out & Do Good,” inspired significant annual increases in restaurant revenues and contributions to The Houston Food Bank.
Cleverley Stone passed away on May 28, 2020, after a prolonged battle with cancer. She wished for Houston Restaurant Weeks to continue indefinitely in her memory. Following her passing, her daughter, Katie Stone, established The Cleverley Stone Foundation to carry on her mother’s legacy and mission.
Houston Restaurant Weeks is held annually from August 1 through Labor Day, while the Eat Drink HTX event, which spans two weeks in February, focuses on casual dining options, including restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops, and food trucks.
Over the past 21 years, Houstonians and restaurant owners have collectively raised more than $22 million to support the Houston Food Bank and address community hunger needs. Both Houston Restaurant Weeks and Eat Drink HTX are the largest annual fundraisers for the nation’s most significant food bank, which serves an 18-county area in southeast Texas.
Mark your calendars for Houston Restaurant Weeks from August 1 to September 7, 2026, with menus available online starting July 15. Additionally, Eat Drink HTX is scheduled for February 15 to 28, 2027. For more information about the foundation and its initiatives, visit The Cleverley Stone Foundation or the Houston Food Bank.
