Dallas Police are actively pursuing leads in the investigation of a tragic hit-and-run incident that claimed the life of 32-year-old Michael Turner in the Pleasant Grove neighborhood. The incident occurred on July 1, and the search for the driver responsible remains ongoing.
At approximately 10:30 p.m. on that fateful night, officers responded to a collision at the intersection of Buckner Boulevard and Elam Road. Upon arrival, they found Turner had been struck by a vehicle that subsequently fled the scene. Despite efforts to revive him, he was pronounced dead at the location of the accident. Surveillance footage captured a white Crown Victoria striking Turner before the driver drove away.

Family Remembers Michael Turner
The emotional toll of this loss is evident in the words of Turner’s mother, Elisa Estrada. Reflecting on her son’s untimely death, she expresses her profound grief and the memories they shared. “I keep watching it in slow motion,” Estrada admits, revealing the anguish she feels. “All we have are memories. And he was too young.”
Turner was on his way to a gas station after finishing work when tragedy struck. Estrada received the heartbreaking news several days post-accident, and she remains hopeful that the police will apprehend the individual responsible for her son’s death. “I want the person to be caught. Not let out of jail, go to prison, something,” she insists. “He doesn’t need to be out because no one deserves that.”
As the community mourns the loss of a young life, the search for justice continues, with many hoping that the perpetrator will soon be brought to account for their actions.
