Three individuals were hospitalized early Sunday morning following a dramatic incident on the East Freeway, where a vehicle reportedly became airborne and collided with another car.
The accident occurred around 2 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10, near the Waco Street exit. Eyewitnesses reported that a Ford Explorer was speeding along the feeder road when the driver lost control. The vehicle then soared over an embankment, landing on the freeway and striking another vehicle.
The impacted vehicle was carrying four passengers, two of whom were transported to a local hospital. Fortunately, officials have indicated that they are expected to make a full recovery. The driver of the Explorer, however, was also hospitalized and is currently in critical condition.
At this time, the identities of those involved in the incident have not been disclosed, and further details regarding the events leading up to the crash remain unclear.
