Fort Worth police are on the hunt for six individuals following a brutal assault on a 34-year-old man that occurred on December 23. The victim sustained significant injuries, including trauma to his head, back, and shoulder. Authorities have released surveillance images in an effort to identify the suspects involved in this violent incident.
The Fort Worth Stockyards, typically a bustling hub for both tourists and locals, became the backdrop for the attack, which police have characterized as particularly vicious. “We always have a large number of visitors in this whole area, and even if they got into a verbal argument, it does not justify the assault that the victim received,” stated Fort Worth Police spokesperson Daniel Segura.
According to reports, the victim was alone when he was confronted by the group in an alley near Stockyards Station, a popular area featuring various shops and restaurants. The circumstances leading up to the assault remain unclear, but Segura emphasized the severity of the incident, stating, “Six versus one. That is not just a fight; that is an assault, an attack.”
The victim described a harrowing experience, claiming that the suspects stomped on him during the assault. The police have urged anyone with information to come forward, particularly those who may recognize a woman seen in one of the surveillance images holding hands with one of the suspects. “If anyone knows who she is, definitely, we would like to talk to her,” Segura added.
Images captured from the surveillance footage reveal a group that appears disheveled, with one individual notably shirtless. Segura remarked on their demeanor, noting, “You see a group of people that come in; they seem to be agitated. Some of their clothing is torn, and they seem excited. You see some stains on them, so it looks like they just came from a fight, and that’s why we’re utilizing these photos.”
Authorities are exploring all possibilities regarding the suspects, who may have been visiting the area or could be residents of Fort Worth. “Maybe this group was at a prior business before, possibly interacting with the hotel lobby clerk or other patrons,” Segura speculated.
Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to reach out to detectives at 817-392-4375. Those preferring to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers of Tarrant County at 817-469-8477.
As the investigation continues, the current condition of the victim has not been disclosed, and details surrounding the initial confrontation remain elusive.
