Career Criminal on the Run After Alleged Hit and Run Incident in Houston

Authorities are on the lookout for a Houston woman with a lengthy criminal history, now facing charges related to a hit-and-run incident that injured a teenager.

Diamond Porter, 31, has accumulated nearly 20 felony theft charges over the past five years across nine Texas counties. Her most recent charge stems from an alleged incident where she struck a 15-year-old cyclist and failed to stop and provide assistance.

Porter’s criminal record reveals a pattern of theft, with 10 felony charges since 2025 and a total of 19 since 2021, including six in the current year alone. She has been convicted in nine different counties, a situation that has drawn attention from law enforcement officials. Andy Kahan, the Victim Services Director with Crime Stoppers, noted, “I’ve never seen someone charged in this many counties with the same offense since we’ve been doing this series.”

Reportedly, Porter is linked to an organized theft ring that specifically targets high-end beauty retailers, such as Ulta and Sephora. Court documents indicate that in one instance, she was involved in the theft of 244 bottles of perfume and 12 bottles of cologne, valued at over $30,000.

Despite her extensive criminal history, Porter has only served time in prison once, often opting to plead guilty to theft charges which result in short jail sentences.

The hit-and-run incident occurred on July 20, when Porter allegedly hit the teenage cyclist near Abney Drive and Greenspoint Drive in north Houston. It is reported that the teen’s mother obtained surveillance footage showing Porter driving a black Hyundai at a high speed before the collision. Witnesses claim that after the accident, Porter slowed down to roll down her window and insulted the teen before fleeing the scene.
