A ground stop at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) has been lifted following an equipment outage that caused significant disruptions to air travel early this morning.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) initially issued the ground stop, which was in effect until at least 10 a.m., impacting flights headed to key destinations such as Houston, Memphis, Kansas City, and Albuquerque.
A DFW Airport representative indicated that the outage was isolated to a single runway, while operations on other runways continued without interruption. Although there were concerns that the ground stop might extend beyond the 10 a.m. mark, it has now been resolved.
Additionally, DFW Airport faced delays earlier due to foggy weather conditions, compounding the travel challenges for passengers.
As of now, the exact cause of the equipment failure remains unclear, and further updates from airport officials are awaited.
