An elderly man has tragically lost his life after being discovered unresponsive in a pond in Colleyville on Sunday morning. The victim, identified as 78-year-old Barry Alldredge, was found by first responders who had been called to assist his wife, who had fallen in a nearby pasture.
The incident occurred shortly after 10:30 a.m. at a residence on Fry Lane. The emergency call had initially reported that an elderly woman required help after falling and being unable to get back up.
While tending to the woman, emergency personnel stumbled upon Mr. Alldredge in the adjacent pond. He was quickly extracted from the water and transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead later that day.
At the time of the incident, temperatures hovered around 15°F, with a wind chill factor making it feel as cold as 3°F. The circumstances surrounding how Mr. Alldredge ended up in the pond remain unclear.
