FC Dallas has officially signed 15-year-old forward Benjamin Flowers to a Homegrown contract, marking him as the youngest player in the club’s history to secure a professional deal. This agreement, which extends through the 2030-31 season with an option for 2031-32, highlights the club’s ongoing commitment to nurturing young talent.
Flowers joined the FC Dallas Academy at the age of 10 after being identified while playing youth soccer in the Dallas area. Originally from Longview, Texas, and raised in Forney, he quickly established himself as one of the academy’s standout prospects, earning his first training call-up with the FC Dallas first team earlier this year.
Regarded as one of the top youth talents in the nation, Flowers has already participated in international tournaments in Germany and Mexico, as well as competing in the prestigious Dallas Cup during his time with the academy. He has also made three appearances for North Texas SC, the club’s MLS NEXT Pro team, and has scored two goals in three matches for the U.S. U-15 national team this year.
FC Dallas officials view Flowers’ signing as a testament to the club’s enduring dedication to developing players from their academy and creating pathways to the professional level. Club president Dan Hunt expressed pride in the signing, reaffirming the organization’s commitment to fostering young athletes.
Chief Soccer Officer André Zanotta emphasized that Flowers has earned this opportunity through his hard work and talent, projecting a promising future for the young forward. In response to his signing, Flowers expressed his excitement, stating that joining his hometown club is a dream come true, but also recognizes this as merely the beginning of his professional journey.
“I’ve always wanted to do this. It’s my hometown club, so it’s an amazing achievement,” Flowers said. “It’s one step of the ladder, and I still want to be the best player to come out of MLS.”
