In a significant development concerning the case of missing 6-year-old Noel Rodriguez-Alvarez, human remains have been discovered behind his former residence on Wisteria Drive. This announcement was made by the Everman Police Department and the FBI during a press conference held on Thursday, following an extensive search operation.
Everman Police Chief Al Brooks confirmed that the remains were located during a legally sanctioned search of the property where the boy lived. He indicated that the remains are currently in the custody of the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office, which is conducting forensic examinations to achieve an official identification. As of now, no official identification has been made.
The search took place over two days and focused on the backyard of the residence. Aerial footage captured during the investigation showed personnel sifting through the soil, indicating the serious nature of the inquiry. Investigators initially conducted a routine search, but the discovery of additional evidence on Wednesday led to a more concentrated effort, including the use of canopies and specialized equipment.
Background on the Case
Noel Rodriguez-Alvarez was last seen alive in the fall of 2022, although authorities were not notified of his disappearance until March 2023. His mother, Cindy Rodriguez-Singh, has been charged with capital murder in connection with the case. Initially, she claimed that Noel was living with his biological father in Mexico. However, she, her husband, and Noel’s six siblings fled to India just two days later, with Noel not accompanying them.
Rodriguez-Singh was subsequently placed on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted list and was apprehended in India last August. Recently, a Tarrant County judge ruled her incompetent to stand trial, resulting in her placement in a state mental health facility. While Noel is presumed dead, his remains have yet to be located.
