By Sunday morning, a complete transition to sleet and some snowfall is anticipated across parts of North Texas, with the wintry weather expected to taper off Sunday afternoon.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for North and Central Texas, effective from 6 p.m. Friday until noon Sunday. An Extreme Cold Warning will also be in place from Saturday evening through Monday morning.
An Ice Storm Warning is currently active until noon on Sunday for certain areas in North Texas, including Anderson, Freestone, Henderson, and Van Zandt counties.
FOX 4 meteorologists caution that temperatures in North Texas may not rise above freezing until Monday afternoon, which could result in hazardous travel conditions persisting through Monday evening. The NWS forecasts a complete transition to sleet and snow for parts of North Texas late Saturday before the winter weather concludes on Sunday.
