Suspect Charged with Intoxication Manslaughter in Grand Parkway Wrong Way Crash

Majesti Faith Lee, a 27-year-old woman, has been charged with intoxication manslaughter, elevated to a first-degree felony, as well as one count of intoxication assault following her involvement in a tragic wrong-way crash on the Grand Parkway. The incident, which took place on Saturday, resulted in the deaths of three family members, while a three-year-old child managed to survive and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that Lee’s bond has been set at $1.05 million. The crash occurred around 2 a.m. on SH-99 near FM 1464, when a family of four was traveling northbound and was struck by a vehicle traveling south in the northbound lanes.

Among the victims, 27-year-old Lizbeth Rodriguez Contreras and 5-year-old Camila Pena were pronounced dead at the scene, while Diego Pena Jr., aged 26, succumbed to his injuries at a hospital. Both the three-year-old boy from the vehicle and Lee, the suspected wrong-way driver, were hospitalized but are expected to recover.

Investigators have determined that alcohol played a significant role in the crash, although further details regarding the surviving victim have not been disclosed by authorities.
