The first weekend of the Austin City Limits Music Festival kicked off with a splash, quite literally, as heavy rainfall created muddy conditions that did little to deter the enthusiastic crowds eager to see their favorite artists.

Despite a delayed start on Saturday, festival attendees equipped themselves with boots and rain gear, ready to enjoy performances from highly anticipated acts such as Charli XCX, Lorde, and CMAT.

The multimedia team from KUT and KUTX took to Zilker Park to capture the vibrant atmosphere and memorable moments throughout the festival. Below is a selection of highlights from their experience.

On the opening day, CMAT delivered a captivating performance, while Tyler Joseph, the lead singer of Twenty One Pilots, energized the audience by swinging his microphone over the crowd during the band’s closing set for the weekend.

<pFestivalgoers navigated through muddy patches, with some even encountering a sizable mud pile as they made their way to the various stages. Amyl and the Sniffers, led by their dynamic vocalist Amy Taylor, also took to the stage, adding to the eclectic lineup.

Among the attendees was Hugo Linton, who dressed as a mermaid and enthusiastically moshed while Turnstile performed on the first day. The band Cure for Paranoia also brought their unique sound to the festival, creating an unforgettable experience for those present.

As the rain persisted on Sunday, attendees like Mariah Shankle, Lauryn Davis, and Ariel Corripio were seen walking through the rain, embracing the festival spirit. The energy continued to build as crowds gathered for Geese’s set, with many getting caught up in the excitement.
