Tragic Incident: 14 Year Old Dies Following Accidental Gun Discharge in Arlington Home

In a tragic incident in Arlington, a 14-year-old boy lost his life after a firearm discharged while being handled by a group of teenagers. The event occurred on Friday night at a residence located on Sausalito Drive.

Arlington police received reports of a shooting around 10:30 p.m. and promptly arrived at the scene. They found the boy suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite efforts to save him, he was declared dead at the location.

Initial investigations suggest that the victim and his peers were engaging in reckless behavior by playing with the firearm and pointing it at one another when the weapon accidentally discharged, striking the boy.

Authorities took the teenager responsible for firing the gun into custody and have charged him with manslaughter. He is currently detained at the Tarrant County Juvenile Detention Center.

Investigators are looking into how the group managed to obtain access to the firearm.

As of now, the identity of the victim has not been disclosed. Additionally, police have stated that they will not release the name of the arrested boy due to his age.
