Warm and Foggy Christmas Eve Weather Forecast for Houston

Warm and Foggy Christmas Eve Weather Forecast for Houston

HOUSTON – If you’re heading out for Christmas dinner this evening, anticipate warm conditions that mirror the pleasant weather experienced earlier today. Additionally, expect thick fog to roll in tonight, lingering into Friday morning.

This Christmas Day has been characterized by warm and humid air enveloping the Houston area. A Dense Fog Advisory was in effect until 10 a.m. this morning, and further fog is anticipated later tonight and into tomorrow morning.

The unusually warm weather for late December will persist throughout the remainder of Christmas Day and into the day after Christmas, making it convenient for holiday travel and outdoor plans. Rather than bundling up in sweaters, many will find themselves donning Christmas t-shirts instead.

The warm trend is set to continue through the weekend, as light Gulf breezes maintain temperatures significantly above average while humidity levels remain high, giving the atmosphere a spring-like ambiance until a cold front arrives late on Sunday.

While the chances of rain remain limited, conditions appear suitable for outdoor activities, albeit with a muggy feel. Daily morning fog is also expected due to the prevailing moisture in the air.

Looking ahead to the New Year, forecasts suggest a potential change in the warm weather pattern as we move into next week. Indications point to cooler, possibly cold air making its way back to Southeast Texas just before the New Year.

As of now, expect colder temperatures starting Sunday night, with lows dipping into the 40s (and possibly the 30s) each night, and daytime highs only reaching the 50s on Monday and Tuesday.
