Texas DPS Saves Six Women from Suspected Human Trafficking at Illicit Massage Parlors in Bexar County

Six women were rescued during a series of human trafficking raids targeting three suspected illicit massage parlors in Bexar County, Texas. The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) conducted the operations on October 22, responding to indications of trafficking in the Live Oak and Universal City areas.

Special agents from the DPS Criminal Investigations Division executed search warrants at the identified businesses, which are situated close to Randolph Air Force Base. Investigators reported that the establishments displayed several signs consistent with illegal activities related to human trafficking.

The women rescued ranged in age from their late 30s to 50s. Despite the successful rescue, no arrests have been made, and the names of the businesses or any suspects involved have not been disclosed as the investigation continues.

Victim-Centered Approach

The DPS emphasizes a victim-centered approach in its human trafficking investigations, which prioritizes the identification, recovery, and stabilization of victims while also pursuing the investigation and prosecution of those suspected of trafficking. Once identified, victims are connected with essential services aimed at preventing further victimization.

Ongoing Investigation

The investigation is still active, and the DPS has stated that no further information is currently available. The department urges anyone with information about suspected human trafficking activities in Texas to report it immediately.

If signs of human trafficking are observed, individuals are encouraged to call 911 and provide as many details as possible to assist law enforcement.
