Armed Employee Threatens Security Guard at H E B, Leading to Temporary Lockdown: Police Report

Authorities in Houston are investigating an incident that led to a temporary lockdown at an H-E-B store when a former employee brandished a firearm at a security guard. The event took place around 6 p.m. on Tuesday at the store located at the intersection of Fountain View Drive and San Felipe Street.

The individual, who had been terminated from his position five years prior, reportedly entered the store and threatened the security personnel with the weapon. Following the confrontation, the suspect fled the scene through the parking lot.

Law enforcement officials are aware of the suspect’s identity and are actively working to apprehend him. Reports indicate that he has been a frequent presence at the store, returning every week or two and causing disturbances. It is important to note that he had previously been trespassed from the location.

Houston police confirmed that the suspect will face charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, among other potential charges.

While the name of the suspect has not been disclosed, a statement from H-E-B indicated that the store was locked down briefly as a precautionary measure. Thankfully, it has since reopened to the public.
