High Speed Chase in Fort Worth Uncovers 244 Kilos of Methamphetamine

A 31-year-old man from Fort Worth, Evaristo Hidrogo, has been sentenced to 40 years in federal prison for his involvement in methamphetamine distribution. This lengthy sentence follows a high-speed chase that culminated in the discovery of a significant quantity of drugs and firearms.

Details from the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas reveal that Hidrogo received this 40-year sentence for possessing over 244 kilograms of pure methamphetamine with the intent to distribute.

Background information highlights that Hidrogo was apprehended in November 2025 after leading law enforcement on a high-speed pursuit. After crashing his vehicle, he attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended by police.

Upon his arrest, authorities discovered 56 grams of methamphetamine on Hidrogo. A subsequent search of his vehicle revealed an additional 823 grams of meth, along with 301 grams of heroin, 55 grams of cocaine, and two firearms. Further investigation into his residence uncovered 10 kilograms of meth and 2 kilograms of heroin. Most notably, law enforcement located a staggering 244 kilograms of 100% pure methamphetamine in a storage facility linked to Hidrogo.

Federal prosecutors and law enforcement officials assert that Hidrogo’s significant prison sentence serves as a strong deterrent against drug trafficking activities. DEA Dallas Special Agent in Charge Joseph B. Tucker stated, “This 480-month sentence sends an unmistakable message to those who flood North Texas communities with methamphetamine: you will be held accountable.”

U.S. Attorney Ryan Raybould emphasized the commitment to combating drug trafficking in the region, stating, “This lengthy prison sentence serves as a warning to anyone distributing narcotics in the Northern District of Texas. We will continue to work with our law enforcement partners to identify and prosecute drug traffickers, as we remain committed to making the communities in which we live safer.”
