Houston's Bush Airport Lifts Ground Stop: What Travelers Need to Know

Houston’s Bush Airport has lifted a ground stop that was in place due to inclement weather, which has now begun to clear from the region. The ground stop, which affected operations at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), was lifted at 5:45 p.m. local time.

As storms pass through the Greater Houston area, travelers are encouraged to check their flight schedules. For real-time updates, flight information is available for both Bush Airport (IAH) and Hobby Airport (HOU).

In addition to the airport updates, a Storm Alert is currently active, warning residents of ongoing rain and potential street flooding over the weekend. The National Weather Service has raised concerns, placing the area at a level 2 risk on a scale of 4 for street flooding on Saturday and Sunday. Additionally, there is a 1 out of 5 risk for a few strong storms in Southeast Texas on Saturday.

Residents are advised to stay informed and take precautions as the weather continues to evolve throughout the weekend.
