Recaptured Sugar Land Suspects: Aggravated Robbery and Jail Escape Update

The Sugar Land Police Department has apprehended four suspects involved in an armed robbery at a local CVS store, as well as their subsequent escape from custody. The suspects now face multiple charges, including escape and attempted murder, following a series of violent incidents that unfolded early Sunday morning.

The robbery occurred at approximately 1:56 a.m. on January 11, 2026, when the four male suspects entered the CVS located on Crabb River Road. According to city officials, the suspects physically assaulted a store clerk before fleeing with a bag containing cash. Fortunately, the clerk sustained only minor injuries and did not require hospitalization.

Houston police were alerted to the situation, leading to a pursuit that successfully resulted in the apprehension of one suspect. Thanks to coordinated efforts between local law enforcement agencies, all four individuals were eventually taken back into custody.

The escape attempt occurred later that same day around 4:50 p.m. A jailer checking on one of the suspects was attacked when he opened the cell door. It is reported that the assailant managed to free the other detainees, allowing all four suspects to escape. However, by approximately 6:20 p.m., they had been located and recaptured.

Now in custody, the suspects are being transferred to the Fort Bend County Jail, where they will face charges that include escape and attempted murder. The identities and ages of the suspects have been confirmed as follows:

  • 19-year-old Edmound Guillory
  • 17-year-old Desean Dillard
  • 18-year-old Devontae Simon
  • 17-year-old Clayton Johnson

The injured jailer has been transported to a local hospital and is reported to be in stable condition. The investigation into both the robbery and the escape continues as authorities work to gather more information.
