The state of Texas is poised to carry out the execution of LeJames Norman, who was convicted for a triple murder that occurred in 2005. The lethal injection is scheduled for Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the state penitentiary in Huntsville.
LeJames Norman, now 40 years old, pleaded guilty to the fatal shootings of Samuel Roberts, 24, Tiffani Peacock, 18, and Celso Lopez, 38, during a failed drug robbery in Edna, Texas. This rural city is situated approximately 100 miles southwest of Houston.
According to court records, the incident unfolded as Norman and his accomplice, Ker’Sean Ramey, sought cocaine in the victims’ home. When they were unable to locate any drugs, they resorted to violence, resulting in the deaths of all three individuals.
Norman was apprehended about five months after the murders while attempting to cross from Mexico back into the United States. He subsequently pleaded guilty to capital murder, leading to a jury sentencing him to death. Ramey, his co-defendant, was also convicted and sentenced to death, with his execution scheduled for the following week.
