Investigators in San Marcos are intensifying their efforts to uncover details surrounding the tragic Iconic Village fire that occurred in 2018, which resulted in the loss of five lives and left seven others injured. Recently, they have reached out to the public for assistance in identifying nine wireless networks that were potentially active in the vicinity at the time of the incident.
The fire, which took place on July 20, 2018, has haunted the community for nearly eight years. Following a thorough investigation, officials from the San Marcos Fire Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives determined that the blaze was deliberately set, leading to the classification of the fatalities as homicides.
Currently, investigators are seeking any information related to the following network names, which may shed light on who utilized these connections or their locations in 2018:

Authorities clarified that not all of these networks were situated at the Iconic Village complex; some may have been linked to the Oaks Apartments or other nearby residential areas.
San Marcos Interim Fire Chief Jonathan Henderson emphasized the department’s unwavering commitment to seeking justice for the victims, stating, “Someone started the fire that killed five people. This is a homicide investigation.”
