Authorities have apprehended a suspect linked to a hit-and-run incident in Oak Cliff that left a woman gravely injured and on life support.
On September 17, police arrested 45-year-old Octavio Ramirez in connection with the August 24 incident. According to police reports, Ramirez collided with 42-year-old Lisa Martinez while she was cycling in the 1200 block of North Westmoreland Road around 9 p.m. before fleeing the scene.
The arrest affidavit indicates that law enforcement utilized the Flock camera system to identify Ramirez and trace his vehicle, which had left debris at the site of the collision. He faces charges of causing serious bodily injury in a collision and has been booked into the Dallas County Jail without bond.
Martinez sustained multiple injuries, including broken bones in her legs, arms, and pelvis, along with internal bleeding and brain trauma. Following the accident, she was rushed to the hospital in critical condition and continues to be supported by life-saving measures.
The investigation remains ongoing as the community seeks justice for the victim, whose family has previously appealed for assistance in identifying the driver responsible for the devastating hit-and-run.
