A man is in custody after confessing to a fatal shooting that occurred outside a convenience store in northwest Harris County on Friday. The suspect has been charged with murder following the incident.
On Friday morning, around 10 a.m., Harris County deputies were dispatched to a convenience store located on Bammel North Houston Road near West Greens Road. Upon arrival, they discovered a man lying in the parking lot with a suspected gunshot wound. Despite immediate efforts to save him, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities later identified the victim as 49-year-old Glenn Godfrey Grey. Sheriff Ed Gonzalez announced on Saturday that the suspect, 34-year-old Albert Williams, had been arrested in connection with the shooting.
While deputies were investigating the scene, they learned of a man with gunshot wounds who had arrived at a nearby hospital. Upon finding Williams at the hospital, deputies engaged him in conversation regarding the incident. According to the sheriff, Williams admitted to shooting Grey following an argument.
Williams has been formally charged with murder and is currently being held in the Harris County Jail. His court appearance is scheduled for Monday.
