Two men from Texas have entered guilty pleas related to a series of ATM robberies across multiple states, where they disabled machines and assaulted technicians to steal cash. Together, they amassed over $700,000 from various locations including Washington, Arizona, Oregon, Texas, and Maine before being captured in Mississippi with stolen firearms and cash. Sentencing is set for April, with federal prosecutors recommending a prison term of at least 10 years and restitution of $768,900.
In a statement from First Assistant U.S. Attorney Charles Neil Floyd, it was revealed that 22-year-old Ahmon Hogg from Humble, Texas, and 23-year-old Seth Coles-Body from Houston were part of this extensive robbery operation.
The two are awaiting sentencing in April. According to their plea agreements, they targeted Bank of America ATMs, disabling them and confronting technicians who arrived for repairs, demanding access to the cash cassettes.
Incident Timeline
On December 23 and 24, 2024, the pair specifically targeted ATMs being loaded with cash in preparation for the Christmas holiday. In Renton, Washington, they disabled a Bank of America ATM and confronted a technician, brandishing a screwdriver and insisting he open the machine. The technician managed to escape after a struggle.
The following day in Vancouver, Washington, they approached another technician working on a disabled ATM. Using intimidation, they seized five cash cassettes filled with cash before fleeing in a vehicle similar to that seen in the Renton incident. They also admitted to disabling another ATM in Battle Ground, Washington, on the same day.
Further Criminal Activities
While investigations were ongoing, the duo was connected to ATM tampering cases on January 3, 2025, in the Phoenix, Arizona area, involving Bank of America and Wells Fargo machines. They were apprehended by Phoenix police while attempting to rob one of the disabled ATMs.
On March 7, 2025, they committed another robbery in Redmond, Washington, where they stole cash containers from a newly opened ATM. Later, five damaged cash containers were recovered along Highway 520. Shortly after, U.S. Border Patrol agents stopped Coles-Body, seizing approximately $209,000 in cash.
In May 2025, the men returned to Houston and robbed a Wells Fargo ATM while a technician was conducting repairs. Coles-Body assaulted the technician, causing injuries, and the pair made off with around $117,000 before abandoning their vehicle nearby.
Final Acts and Arrest
In June 2025, they were involved in disabling ATMs in Tigard and Hillsboro, Oregon, as well as robbing a customer who had just used a different machine. Their crime spree culminated on June 30, 2026, when they disabled a Bank of America ATM in South Portland, Maine, and assaulted a technician, stealing $47,000. They were subsequently arrested during a traffic stop in Jackson, Mississippi, where authorities recovered stolen firearms and significant amounts of cash.
Next Steps
Under the terms of their plea agreements, prosecutors are advocating for a sentence of approximately 10 years in prison, or the upper limit of the federal sentencing guidelines, whichever is greater. The defense team has agreed to seek a sentence within the range determined by the judge. Each count of bank robbery and attempted bank robbery carries a maximum penalty of 20 years.
Hogg and Coles-Body have also agreed to pay $768,900 in restitution, which includes covering medical expenses for the injured technicians.
Investigation Details
The investigation into their criminal activities was carried out by FBI offices in Vancouver, Phoenix, and Houston, in collaboration with state and local law enforcement agencies.
