A tragic accident occurred on September 9, resulting in the death of a 36-year-old man from Dallas after his vehicle collided with a semi-truck trailer on northbound Interstate 635 in Mesquite. The driver of the semi-truck has been arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated.
Details of the Incident
The Mesquite Police Department received reports of the crash at 3:17 a.m. in the vicinity of the 21100 block of northbound IH-635, close to North Gross Road. Upon arrival, investigators discovered that a white Alfa Romeo sedan had crashed into the trailer of an 18-wheeler.
The driver of the sedan, identified as Jose Aguilar Renteria, was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the truck driver, Ulises Mendez Hernandez, 30, originally from Mexico, was taken into custody and charged with driving while intoxicated.
