A former employee of Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center has been sentenced after pleading guilty to charges related to unauthorized recordings in bathrooms at his workplace.
Robert Shrader, 41, was sentenced to four years in a Texas state jail facility after admitting guilt to seven felony counts of Invasive Visual Recording in a Bathroom or Dressing Room. The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office confirmed that Shrader has waived his right to appeal, solidifying the terms of his sentence.
Shrader’s arrest took place in August 2025, following the discovery of two hidden cameras in the hospital’s bathrooms. Court records reveal that surveillance footage captured Shrader installing one of the devices. Authorities retrieved over 170 images from one memory card associated with a camera, while an additional memory card found in his office contained 131 more images.
Additionally, a now-deleted LinkedIn profile indicated that Shrader had held the position of Director of Patient Care at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center. It has also come to light that he worked as a substitute teacher in the Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District from October 2006 to January 2007, and later as a teacher at Cypress Ranch High School until December 2011.
This case has sparked further legal action, as a nurse at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands has filed a lawsuit against Shrader, alleging misconduct related to the hidden cameras.
