Residents of a senior affordable apartment complex in The Woodlands are increasingly voicing their concerns regarding pest infestations. Numerous elderly tenants at Pineview at Grogansmill have reported issues with rats, bed bugs, and cockroaches.
Reports of these pest problems have surged following coverage of a rat infestation within the complex earlier this week. Many residents reached out to express their own experiences with various infestations, including roaches and bed bugs.
One anonymous resident described the troubling conditions, stating, “Many people are complaining about the severe roach problem, yet management seems indifferent. We keep raising our concerns, but nothing changes. It’s filthy here, and there are bed bugs that the management doesn’t know how to eliminate. One resident even moved out because of the rat issue, while another reported having up to eight or nine rats in her apartment. The situation is particularly challenging for those of us who are wheelchair-bound or use walkers, as we depend on maintenance for assistance.”
In response to the escalating complaints, a spokesperson for Pineview at Grogansmill issued a statement, emphasizing their commitment to addressing the pest issues. “Upon being informed of the problem in June, we engaged a third-party vendor to enhance our services and tackle the situation directly. We take these matters seriously and will conduct further investigations to ensure a lasting solution. We appreciate the residents’ patience during this time and will maintain close communication as we monitor any reported units.”
Despite management’s assurances, residents are urging for more decisive action to resolve the ongoing pest issues.
