A 42-year-old woman from Dallas is currently on life support following a serious hit-and-run incident that occurred while she was riding her bicycle in Oak Cliff. The family of Lisa Martinez is now appealing to the public for assistance in locating the driver responsible for the accident.
The incident took place on August 24 around 9 p.m. when police were called to the 1200 block of North Westmoreland Road in response to a major accident. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a woman had been struck by a vehicle, which had fled the scene prior to their arrival.
Martinez was quickly transported to the hospital in critical condition, having sustained multiple broken bones. She has remained in the hospital for over two weeks, fighting for her life, while her family continues to provide her with emotional support.
Family’s Plea for Justice
The family of Martinez, who is a mother of four, is devastated by the incident and is actively seeking any information that could lead to the identification of the driver. “We really need justice for this. We really need answers,” said Erica Moreno Garcia, Martinez’s niece.
While Martinez remains in critical condition, her family has been steadfast in their commitment to her recovery. “We will be here for her. We are here for her. Until she gets through this,” Moreno Garcia stated in an interview.
In their quest for justice, the family has expressed deep frustration over the lack of leads in the investigation. “Father, God will get you. You will get what you deserve,” Moreno Garcia added, addressing the unknown suspect directly.
