Houston authorities are on the hunt for a man linked to a shooting that resulted in a fatality in the Alief area nearly three years ago.
The suspect, identified as 31-year-old Alexander Funes-Vasquez, faces murder charges in connection with the death of 21-year-old Edward Josue Valladarez-Vargas.
The tragic incident occurred in October 2023, when police responded to an emergency call regarding a shooting at an apartment complex on Dairy View Lane, situated near Bissonnet Street and South Dairy Ashford Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered Valladarez-Vargas deceased, lying near some bushes with a gunshot wound.
Details surrounding the identification of Funes-Vasquez as a suspect remain unclear, as law enforcement has not disclosed how they connected him to the crime. Additionally, there is limited information regarding the events that precipitated the shooting.
