A fire incident late Tuesday evening at a three-story apartment complex on Keller Springs Road in Dallas has left several families displaced. Fortunately, all residents managed to evacuate safely, and there were no reported injuries.
The blaze affected four units, resulting in the displacement of six adults and three children due to fire damage and dangerously elevated carbon monoxide levels within the building. Currently, the cause of the fire is under investigation by Dallas Fire-Rescue.
Firefighters were dispatched to the complex in the 6300 block of Keller Springs Road shortly after 9 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered an active fire on a second-story balcony, which was already spreading to the third floor. Additional firefighting resources were called in to control the situation. Thankfully, all occupants were able to escape the building unharmed.
In light of the incident, additional families have also been affected due to the high carbon monoxide levels in the 18-unit building. These families are now collaborating with the American Red Cross and the apartment management to secure temporary housing while they navigate this crisis.
As investigators work to determine the cause of the fire, affected residents are focusing on finding stable accommodations in the aftermath of this unfortunate event.
