A DART Police officer has been hospitalized following a shooting incident in South Dallas. The officer sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and is currently in stable condition after being transported to the hospital.
The incident occurred on July 30 at approximately 8 p.m. in the 1400 block of South Trunk Avenue, close to Fair Park. According to reports, Dallas Police responded to an officer-assist call and discovered that suspects were firing at the location. It was during this exchange that the officer was struck by a stray bullet near DART’s Martin Luther King Jr. Station.
Authorities have yet to make any arrests, and the investigation into the shooting is ongoing. Details regarding the identities of the suspects involved and the motive behind the shooting remain unclear.
