A fallen soldier from North Texas will be commemorated this Saturday with an honor ride and memorial services. Nineteen-year-old Isabella Gonzales tragically lost her life in an Iranian strike on a U.S. military base in Jordan.
The honor ride for Gonzales is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. at Maverick Harley-Davidson. The route will take participants along Interstate 35E, up Josey Lane to Hebron High School, and then back via Old Denton Road to the starting point. An event following the ride is set to commence at noon.
Gonzales, who grew up in Carrollton and graduated from Hebron High School in 2025, joined the United States Army shortly after her graduation. Her funeral service is planned for 6 p.m. at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano.
Isabella’s death occurred on July 17 when she was killed in an Iranian strike while supporting a U.S. mission against the Islamic State. She and another soldier were actively defending against the attacks when they lost their lives.
Hebron High School, part of the Lewisville Independent School District, expressed condolences shortly after her passing. “Not long ago, Isabella walked the halls of Hebron as a student, a classmate and a friend. Her decision to serve after graduation speaks volumes of her character,” the district stated. “On behalf of the students, staff and families of Lewisville ISD, we extend our deepest sympathy to Isabella’s family, her friends and all who loved her. We are holding them close during this incredibly difficult time.”
In a local show of support, Carrollton City Council members wore black and purple ribbons—Gonzales’s favorite colors—during a recent meeting to honor her memory. The city is also planning to establish a permanent memorial for Gonzales and will host a vigil at a community church this weekend following her funeral.
